APS Support Services: Locate the Windows AppData folder and show hidden folders

This article discusses the Microsoft Windows AppData folder, how to locate the folder, and how to show the hidden folder if required. This folder is usually hidden by default.

To open the AppData folder on Windows 10

  1. Open Windows, File Explorer

  2. Type %AppData% into the address bar and click Enter.

  3. Navigate to the required folder (Roaming or Local).

  1. Open File Explorer from the taskbar.

  2. Select View, Options, Change folder, and search options.

  3. Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
