Practice Management: The Fee is currently locked by another user

Fee earner is unavailable to remove the lock

Follow the below to remove the Fee lock:

  1. Open Central Console.

  2. Use the dropdown filter to choose the affected client.

  3. In the left-hand pane, expand the Matter Band.

  4. Select the relevant matter from the list.

  5. From the toolbar, click Action.

  6. Choose Extract Log Maintenance.

  7. In the Fees List, locate the locked invoice ID.

  8. Right-click the locked invoice and select Remove Log, then click OK to confirm.

If the invoice ID is not visible in the Fees List

  • Click Action from the menu bar and check Active Fee Log.

  • If not found, check Inactive Fee Log (ensure the start date is set to 01/06/1899).

  • Review any orphan Extract Log IDs.


šŸ“ŒNote: After removing the log via Extract Log Maintenance, the fee process must be restarted from the beginning.
