Tax Manager and Elite forms: 'Error; Has Error = True; Error= Unknown command in C:\Adv2000\TaxForms\TE202*XX.dll'

The following error may also appear: 'There is no Elite Tax Return data. Please delete this tax return & re-create it'

  • Check if you are using the correct Matter by opening Standard Matters Console and for that Matter, ensure the 'Roll From Matter' and the 'Year' is correct.

  • If the above is correct, run a repair on the Access APS Tax Manager and Elite forms 2025 (if the error shows a different year, also run a repair of that years file).

  • If the issue, persists, you will uninstall and reinstall Access APS Tax Manager & Elite Forms.

NOTE: ensure APS is closed during this process. If you are in a terminal server, please ensure all users on that server are out of APS.


  1. Confirm the version of Tax you are running by going to Help, About Advance. Check our Help centre to confirm the latest Tax release.

  2. Uninstall the existing Access APS Tax Manager and Elite Forms from the Control Panel.

  3. Download a fresh installer for all the Access APS Tax manager and Elite forms from our Help centre.

  4. Install the files in order, 2001-2011, 2012-2018, 2019 to 2024 and the most current 2025 file.

  5. Right click on the downloaded zip folder, click on Properties, tick Unblock and click Ok.

  6. Extract the files.

  7. Reinstall the software. Go to the download and right click and select Run as administrator.

  8. Create a 2025 Tax Elite return to confirm the issue has been fixed.
