Tax Australia: Error: CMN.ATO.GEN.DUPLICATE.ENTRY- Duplicate Entry found for this lodgment

When I try to lodge the company return I receive CMN.ATO.GEN.DUPLICATE.ENTRY- Duplicate Entry found for this lodgment but the return is still outstanding in the portal.

The ATO has confirmed that it is a generic issue that affects the company returns with the Substitute Accounting Period.


A possible workaround is to:

  1. Remove the ABN from the return.

  2. Then lodge the return.

If that does not resolve the issue, please call ATO for further assistance. Please view the Troubleshooting page from the ATO for this error.
