There is currently no function to roll your current budgets into the new year.
Below are a couple of hints that may assist you when you are creating your new budgets, including using Templates and Duplicating budgets.
Note: To perform any viewing or edits within the Budget Console you must click on the Edit Mode button to enable Edit Mode.
To create your new budgets select the new year from the drop down box and ensure the Status entry is set to Active.
Below are the steps for creating a Template that can be used for employees with times and assignments.
Create Template: To create a new Template select the 'View option and then select Templates from the drop-down menu.
Next select Action and click on Create Template:
Type in a new template name and click Ok.
Once you have created the template, you can adjust the hours to suit who the template is aimed at. Because of all the new features of Budgets (which have come about because of the way we now record how every fee earner may work from day to day), the use of a template should be applied to a fee earner with great care.
Please Note:
When you can Create and Apply a Template, they will only have an ‘hours’ view as there is no Fee Earner rates available at this stage.
The option ‘Create Template’ will only be enabled once you have selected the Template view.
Before setting up a template, keep in mind that when you load a fee earner budget, it will be prepared with the parameters of that fee earner and will then be adjusted by any regional public holidays that may apply to that person. A template could never recognise these factors.
A template suits a set of fee earners who all have the same standard hour attributes.
To Duplicate Budget: You can duplicate an existing budget by copying from one fee earner to another for that currently selected year. Select Action and then Duplicate Budget from the drop-down menu:
The application will duplicate any entries that are in the following sections:
Note: The exact numbers will be duplicated and applied against the receiving fee earner’s standard hours.
