You can create a new task from any screen, making it easy to handle ad‑hoc work.

Add a new task from any main page

The banner will remain the same on any screen, whether you're working in the Jobs view, or creating a new template when a new task pops up.

Click the Add new button and select Task to open the new task form.

Add a new task within a job card

Whilst working in an active job card, click + New task to open the new task form.

Add a new task within the Tasks Kanban or List View

In the top right-hand corner under the Kanban/List selector click + New task to open the new task form.

Add details to create your tasks:

Task name*

  • This is a mandatory field.

  • Tasks do not require unique names.

  • The task name can be edited after it has been created.

Job*

  • This is a mandatory field.

  • The Job is automatically filled when creating a task in a Job card.

Client

  • This is an optional field. Use this if you have a Debtor group on the job, and you want to specify a specific client that this task relates to.

  • This detail cannot be added to open tasks, only upon initial task creation.

Task type*

  • This is a mandatory field.

  • If you have not selected a Client, your only option is General.

  • If you have selected a Client, you will have the options Financial Statements, Tax Return, or General.

Status*

  • This is a mandatory field.

  • This will be updated as the task progresses.

Assigned to

  • This is an optional field.

  • Assign, reassign or remove the task owner at any time.

Due date

  • This is an optional field.

  • Add or edit the due date at any time.

Time estimate (hours)

  • This is an optional field.

  • Add or edit this field at any time.

Description

  • This is an optional field.

  • Add or edit the description to give further insight into the task at any time.
