To resolve the error:
Navigate to Family Trust Election.
Click Next until you reach the Active Entity Election Details worksheet.
Open the worksheet.
From the Other Details page, tick Yes or No for the final question: 'Was the trustee or partner a non-resident for tax purposes during the relevant period?'
Click Next.
The validation error should now be cleared.
