Tax Manager and Elite forms: Activity Statement SBR Log files

To assist with further investigation, we’ll need the RSBRE Activity Statement logs from when you were creating the activity statement.

Follow the steps to create RSBRE logs for Activity Statements:

  1. Close out of APS (if you are on a server, everyone needs to be out of APS)

  2. Go to Windows, File Explorer, C:\Adv2000\ TaxForms and C:\Program Files (x86)\Advance Tax\Framework to locate the below files on the PC:

  • C:\Adv2000\TaxForms\App.config

  • C:\Adv2000\TaxForms\Aps.Applications.Tax.Australia.SBRAUSKeyConfiguration.exe.config

  • C:\Adv2000\TaxForms\Aps.Framework.SBRService.Host.exe.config

  • C:\Adv2000\TaxForms\Aps.TaxService.Host.exe.config

📌Note: If you are creating an Advance Tax Activity statement, users will need to also change the below files. For elite forms, please skip the below files and continue to step 3.

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Advance Tax\Framework\Aps.Applications.Tax.Australia.SBRAUSKeyConfiguration.exe.config

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Advance Tax\Framework\Aps.Framework.Runtime.Loader.exe.config

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Advance Tax\Framework\Aps.Framework.SBRService.Host.exe.config

  1. Open each file to edit

  2. Locate a field called <add key="EnableReckonAs4Logging" value="False"/> and change this to True.

  3. Save your changes.

Once the tag is changed to True, The system will start to create XML log files upon lodgements.

  1. Create the Activity Statement. Once you have selected the data from the List Service, the activity statement is created. Proceed to Step 7.

Note: If you can't connect to List Service, the log files won't be created. Please contact Support to have this fixed.

  1. Go to C:\Users\AffectedUser\appdata\ and press Enter. If you are unable to view this location, you are using a terminal server see the Note for Terminal servers below.

Note: This is usually a hidden folder.

  1. Whilst in this folder search for ReckonAS4

Open the ReckonAS4Client folder and under here you will see Logs Directory. Please copy and the XML files created. Contact support to be provided with a link and password to upload the XML files.

📌Note: Serv-U data is automatically deleted after fourteen days.

You will need to send the to us.

  • Please check the Date Modified of these files. They should match the lodgment time on the SBR Validation Report.

  • Please note that for the files that are created, the file name starts with the date, and then the time of the lodgements. Please send us all that are created together you can check that by the name of the file, as the time on all files would be the same. Each Lodgement will create multiple files and we need all of them.

  • Once you have sent us the Log files, please leave the tags to set as True, as we might request newer log files for the same lodgement. Once your issue is resolved you can then revert back to this change (by changing <add key="EnableReckonAs4Logging" value="True"/> to FALSE) so a log file is not created for every lodgment that you do.

📌Note: Terminal Servers

Check the following two locations:

  • C:\Users\Your Name\Temp\ReckonAS4Client\Logs.

  • C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Local\Temp\Any folder name with numerical number\ReckonAS4Client\Logs.
