SyncDirect: Reallocate SyncDirect licenses for use with other client accounts

Updated over a month ago

This article takes you through the steps to free up your SyncDirect licenses for use with other client accounts.

This process can be done on an annual basis before your license renewal date to allow you to reuse your existing licenses that are no longer required.

Note: Once a collection is done, a SyncDirect license is consumed. This license can be reused if the datafeeds and collections are deleted and the license has been deactivated using the steps below.

Step 1: Check how many licenses are allocated

  1. Go to the APS list of applications, System Administration, SyncDirect Licensing, Bureau Activation.

  2. Check the date of the SyncDirect license renewal from your APS invoices (you may need to contact your Accounts team for this information).

If you wish to free up further licenses, then proceed to step 2.

Step 2: Clear the collections

  1. Go to Central Console, XPA Ledgers, SyncDirect

  2. Select the Data Feed and expand to see the collections

  3. Right-click the collection and select Clear to remove the collection.

Step 3: Delete the datafeeds

  1. Go to Central Console, XPA Ledgers, SyncDirect

  2. Highlight the relevant data line

  3. Select the Action, Delete Data Feed

You will be prompted to confirm this action. On success, a message is displayed and the data feed line will disappear.

Step 4: Deactivate the license

  1. Go to the APS list of applications, Xcede Professional Accounting, SyncDirect, Client list.

  2. Select the client you have chosen to deactivate from SyncDirect.

  3. Right-click and Deactivate license.

  4. The Activation date will clear out.

Step 5

  1. Wait for your annual license renewal date. On this date, Access APS will clear the license for reuse on another client account. This license will be ready for use the day after the renewal date.

  2. You can also turn off the client's Attribute to SyncDirect to remove them from the Client List.
