Before beginning, determine if your ledger needs to refresh the User Defined Fields from another ledger or from a master template.
Refresh the User Defined Fields from another ledger
You set up a new ledger that has incorrect User Defined Fields. Use these steps to copy the user defined fields from a correctly set up XPA ledger.
Click Reporting, User Defined Fields.
From the drop-down list, select Accounts.
Click the Delete All button to delete the existing User Defined Fields.
Click Yes to confirm that the fields can be deleted.
Select the XPA ledger you want to use as the source for the User Defined Fields:
Click Template.
Select Ledger as the File Type.
Search for the XPA ledger to be used as the source for the User Defined Fields.
Click Ok to reveal the User Defined Fields from the Source Ledger.
Click Save to save these fields on the current XPA ledger.
The User Defined Fields are now set up on the ledger.
Refresh the User Defined Fields from the Master template
Click Reporting, User Defined Fields.
From the drop-down list, select Accounts.
Click the Delete All button to delete the existing User Defined Fields.
Click Yes to confirm that the fields can be deleted.
Close the User Defined window.
Go to File, File details, and ensure the Master Template is selected. Note: If this process is used to update an entity template, click on the Templates button while viewing the Chart of Accounts to select a different template.
Go to Chart, Chart.
Click the Show button to display the accounts in the Chart of Accounts on the Master Template.
Alternatively, click the Templates button and select the Master Template if updating a template.
Click the All User Fields button to update the ledger with the User Fields setup on the Master Template.
Close the Chart of Accounts window and go to Reporting, User Defined Fields.
Select the Accounts table in the drop-down list.
The new updated User Defined Fields will be available.
