APS Evo: Download and install APS Evo Data Loader

The sections below detail how to install the APS Data Loaders and connect your data so you can start using APS Evo.


Overview of connecting to Access Evo

To use Access APS Evo, you need to connect your APS desktop data to Access Evo. To do this, you'll:

  • Download the APS SQL Data Loader.

  • Install the Data Loader. (You'll need the security token which we will email to your administrator. This will connect your APS data.

  • Connect your APS data.

Each task is described below.


Download the APS SQL Data Loader

To download the Data Loader:

  1. Log in to the server where APS SQL is installed.


Install and connect the Data Loader for APS SQL

To carry out this task, you'll need your SQL server name, username and password. You'll also need the security token which we will email to your administrator. This will connect your APS data. If you have not received your security token, please complete this questionnaire.

To install and connect the Data Loader for APS SQL:

  1. On the server or computer where APS is installed, open Windows Explorer and go to your Downloads folder.

  2. Right-click on the Data Loader zip file then select Properties.

  3. From the General tab, tick Unblock, then click Apply, OK.

  4. Right-click the Data Loader zip file. then select Extract All, then click Extract. The zip file will be extracted to a new folder.

  5. In the new folder location, open \SQL\64Bit, then double-click Run_DataLoaderInstaller.bat to run it.

  6. If you can't run the Run_DataLoaderInstall.bat, manually run the DataLoaderSetup64.exe instead.

  7. If asked: Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device, click Yes.

  8. A blue command window is displayed and the installation begins.

  9. When the pop-up message, Please click through the installer is displayed, click OK.

  10. The Access Driver wizard begins. Click Next through the wizard, ensuring to read and agree to the terms of the license agreement when asked.

  11. At Confirm Installation Details, click Install.

  12. When the install wizard finishes installing the driver, click Finish.

  13. APS 64bit Data Loader is now installed.

  14. A pop-up Data Loader screen is displayed. If you don't see the Data Loader pop-up screen, go to Start, Run, type in Data Loader and then double-click ClicData DataLoader to open the screen.

  15. Click the settings icon at the top right of the Data Loader screen to open the settings screen.

  16. Copy and paste the Data Loader Security Token provided via email from the Access Group, into the Security Token field, then click Save.

  17. The application is successfully installed when the Data Loader service status is Running.


Connect your APS data

To connect your data:

  1. Log into Access Evo.

  2. Click the Access Button and then Products.

  3. Select Data Engine.

  4. The Data Engine tab is displayed. Click the three-line "burger menu" on the top-left of the screen and select Connections.

  5. Click Connections to open SQL Server Connections.

  6. Locate B - aba - Connection - SQL - APS then click the drop-down arrow at the end of the row and select Properties.

  7. The Data Connections tab is displayed. At the Server field, type the full server name.

  8. Click Authentication on the left-hand menu.

  9. Select an Authentication Type, typically User Authentication. Your system administrator or IT specialist will be able to advise the Authentication Type to choose.

  10. Type in your User and Password, and any necessary fields for your authentication method.

  11. Click Server on the left-hand menu.

  12. Click the drop-down arrow on the Database field. You will see the databases listed on that server, which indicates you have successfully established a connection with your SQL server.

  13. Select your APS database., then click Save. You've now established a connection to your APS SQL server. Proceed to the next step in the Getting Started process.
