The Tax Agent creation is managed with JOE Administration and created within the Tax Agent console.
JOE Administration
You may enable Allow Add and/or Allow Delete options. These are NOT selected by default to allow you to choose which users are able to perform these actions
The Tax Agent Console
The default fields in the Correspondence page are pre-populated, however the rest of the fields will need to be updated if you use Correspondence. The other pages 901 Letter and Web View remain unchanged.
Adding a Tax Agent
Click Add button to add new agent.
The fields shown above are compulsory, and cannot be edited once the agent is created.
Enter the value and click Add.
Select the newly created Tax Agent from the drop down list (Type * and press enter to display the drop down list)
Select the Web View menu and populate the Client List ID field. This number can be obtained from the MyIR website, and is not necessarily the same as the Tax Agent's IRD number.
Complete the rest of the fields under the Details, 901 Letter and Correspondence menus as required.
Once the above has been completed, the new Tax Agent can be selected for clients in Central Console/Details page:
Deleting a Tax Agent
To delete an agent no longer required, we advise that you should ensure that any clients linked to this Tax Agent are reassigned to another agent first.
When deleting the agent, a warning prompt is shown to confirm.
⚠️Important: if any clients are still linked to this agent, there will be no additional warning prompts shown, and those clients will not be linked to any agent in the Central Console. This could affect reporting and column filters in some scenarios such as 901 processing pages.
