Practice Management: Delete a duplicate disbursement batch

Correct the disbursement transaction posted to the wrong client

Transactions cannot be deleted once they have been posted.

Please use one of the options below to address this issue:

Option 1

Create a negative disbursement entry to offset the previous entries.

  1. Launch the Disbursements module.

  2. Create a new disbursement batch.

  3. Select the Client name and the Matter name that the original disbursement was entered against.

  4. Use negative amounts to offset the previous entries.

  5. Include the original transactionID in the narration for future reference.

  6. Right-click on the Complete option and then click on the Post Batch to post the batch.


Option 2

Use the Fees module to write off the disbursement WIP(depending on your internal policies).
