An issue has been identified in APS Australian Tax, where the distributions may not be correctly synchronized for some trust/partnership returns. This results in the distributions from the trust/partnership not flowing through to the beneficiaries'/partners' returns.
This occurs when the links between the distributions are broken. In this scenario, only resynchronising will not fix the issue.
In this scenario, the following workaround can be used:
For each affected beneficiary/partner, enter zero ($0.00) in any of the distribution sections inside the Trust/Partnership return from which the distribution is being made.
Click on Synchronise inside the Trust/Partnership return.
Check that the distribution is now showing in the returns of the beneficiaries/partners.
Remove the $0.00 if necessary.
Alternatively, please follow the instructions if the previous instructions do not resolve the issue:
Delete all the distributions received in all the beneficiaries’/partners’ returns (Do not use clear)
Delete all the beneficiaries/Partners from the trust/partnership (Do not use clear) – this will remove all the connections between the returns.
Re-add the beneficiaries/Partners to the trust/Partnership.
Re-add the distributions/amounts to the beneficiaries/Partners.
Synchronize again. It should now flow through to the returns.
Please note that if this also does not work, you may add the distribution information manually, and it would not prevent lodgement.
